DTF is an acronym that means Direct To Film.
The process of creating DTF or Direct To Film Transfers involves, generally speaking, a CMYK and White ink large format style printer that prints deisgns, images, and/or graphics in reverse and directly on to the rolls or sheets of film.
Once the image has been printed it will travel through a chamber that applys an adhesive powder to the back of the image while the ink is still wet, it will then advance forward to the shaker where the remaining excess adhsive is shaken off of the film. Now that the excess adhesive power has been shaken off, it will travel through an oven/dryer for the ink and adhesive to cure dry.
Once the cured and printed film comes out of the dryer, the film rolls/sheet will be cut down into each useable transfer so they can be applied to almost any item including t-shirts, polo shirts, back packs, bags, caps, pants, hoodies, sweatshirts and other items. DTF transfers can by applied to many fabrick types such as cotton, polyester, blends, twill, denim, spandex, and more.
